James A. “JB” Bell, age 76, a lifetime resident of Winona, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep on Monday, February 12, 2024, at his home.
He was born on June 19, 1947, in Winona, to Clarence and Vera (Lattman) Bell, and was a 1965 graduate of Winona Senior High School. Jim honorably served his country with the United States Army.
Jim was employed as an electrician with Corcoran Electric, and later with Polachek Electric, until his retirement. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union #343.
Jim will be remembered for his love of Harley-Davidson Motorcycles, and as someone who was well liked by anyone that he met. He will be deeply missed.
Jim is survived by his lifetime significant other, Linda Strzyzewski; siblings: Patti (Darrell) Volkman, Tom (Cindy) Bell, Duane “Punky” (fiancée Cindy) Bell, and Steve (Tina) Bell; nieces and nephews: Hollie, Tyson, Torrey, Todd, Shane, Travis, CheyAnn, Leigh, Ryan, Jake, and Jenna; as well as other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, 376 E. Sarnia St., Winona, on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 1 PM until 3 PM. A light luncheon and refreshments will be served in the community room of the funeral home during the celebration of life. A gathering will be held at Fast Eddie’s, 500 West 5th Street, Winona, on Saturday, after 3 PM.
The American Legion Leon J. Wetzel Post 9 of Winona will present military rites at 1 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that memorials be directed to cancer research, or to a favorite charity.
