JACQUELINE "JACKIE" EDRA EBERTOWSKI
Jacqueline “Jackie” Edra Ebertowski, age 74, of Lewiston, MN, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Gundersen Health System Hospital in La Crosse, WI. She was born on October 25, 1942 in Colorado Springs, CO, to Edgar and Madonna (Fancher) Tyler.
After graduating in 1960 from Colorado Springs High School, she met and married Raymond Ebertowski, who was serving in the Air Force there. They were married at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Colorado Springs on May 6, 1961 and moved to Raymond’s hometown, Winona, MN, that August. For 21 years, she was a full-time homemaker raising their six children. Then in 1982, she started working at Winona National Bank, retiring after 20 years of service, mostly in the Trust Department. Her keen attention to detail was helpful in her bank job and while serving multiple terms as treasurer on the Rollingstone Little League Baseball Board.
Jackie will be remembered for her selfless spirit, her hard-working and non-judgmental nature, her humor, intelligence and thirst for knowledge, creativity, patience and especially the time and energy she dedicated to creating a lifetime of memories with her grandchildren. She was a fun, hands-on grandma who encouraged her grandchildren to dream, experiment, create and explore via arts and crafts, games, books and conversations.
She was an avid reader, quilter, gardener, crafter, and pie-maker. She enjoyed challenging puzzles of all kinds. She and Raymond enjoyed playing cards (500), picking berries to make jelly and spending time outdoors. Other than her family, her greatest love was her home state of Colorado. She cherished her many trips back to the Rocky Mountains and had most recently visited there in 2015.
Jackie is lovingly survived by her husband and their children: Mark (Angela) Ebertowski, Minneapolis, Patrick (Lisa) Ebertowski , Winona, Peter Ebertowski, Walden, CO, Elizabeth (Duane) DuBois, Winona, Thomas (Lorie) Ebertowski, Utica; 11 grandchildren: Wesley, Olivia, Chris (Kelsey), Hailey, Claire, Cole, Logan, Alexia, Aubrey, Aria, and Hannah; and 1 great-grandchild: Erin. She is further survived by her brother, KC (Chris) Tyler, Colorado Springs, CO; sister-in-law, Bernice Gilbert, Hitchcock, SD and brother-in-law, Dennis (Joni) Ebertowski, Minnesota City; as well as many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and her special friends: Bob and Donna Verdick, Joe and Rose Weideman, and Gene and Carolyn Prenot.
She was preceded in death by her son, Paul Ebertowski; her parents and a brother, Jimmy Ed Tyler; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Zigmund and Florence (Kujak) Ebertowski; and brother-in-laws, Kurtis Kuestermeyer and Charlie Gilbert.
Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM on Monday, October 30, 2017, at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka with a luncheon to follow. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
