Helen M. Selke

Helen M. Selke, 96, of Winona, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.

Helen was born on May 27, 1927, in Winona, to Reinhart and Etta (Wachs) Jacobs. She was united in marriage with David L. Selke on December 25, 1947, in Winona; and he preceded her in death on June 24, 2016.

She was employed with Winona Signal Company, and later Winona Teleprompter, until her retirement. Helen was an avid bowler for many years, was a member of the Winona 600 Club, and also enjoyed golfing.

In 1980, David and Helen began wintering in Harlingen, Texas, for six months of the year, with the remainder being spent at their home in Indian Creek, WI. They loved to go dancing, and they spent much time on the Mississippi River on their houseboat fishing and camping. Helen and David went on many trips with their daughter and son-in-law, and some of their favorite destinations included England, Paris, Hawaii, going on various cruises and to David’s Navy reunions, and visiting their Texas friends in Canada.

She was a member of St. Martin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Helen is lovingly survived by her daughter, Sharon (Dennis) Repinski, Crossville, TN; sisters: Delores Ziebell and Judith Erickson, both of Stockton, MN; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brother: Robert Jacobs, and sister: Betty Schultz.

Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the funeral service at 11 AM on Monday, September 25, 2023, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, 376 E. Sarnia St., Winona. The Reverend Richard A. Moore will officiate.

Helen will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, it is respectfully requested that memorials be directed to St. Martin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, or to the Winona Humane Society.
