Glen Cochenour

Glen S. Cochenour, age 92, of Winona, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 26, 2018, at the Mayo Clinic Hospital – St. Mary’s Campus in Rochester, MN, while holding his beloved Mary’s hand.

He was born on February 22, 1926, in Wichita, KS, to Glen and Gertrude (Grounds) Cochenour.  Glen was united in marriage with Mary Bronk on June 6, 1951.  He honorably served his country with the United States Army, retiring as a First Lieutenant, and was awarded the Silver Star and the Bronze Star.  Following retirement from the military, Glen was employed with RTP in Winona for many years, and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

He will be remembered as a jack-of-all trades, who enjoyed working on cars and gardening.  He especially cherished the time that he spent with his grandchildren.

Glen is lovingly survived by his wife, Mary; son: Mike (Sandy) Cochenour; daughter: Mary Katherine (Ricky, Sr.) Popp; grandchildren: Craig, Amy, Christina, Matthew, Christopher, and Andrew; great-grandchildren: Gale, Taylor, Marissa, Ryan, Reese, Emma, Liam, Tiffany, and Evangeline; a great-great-grandchild, which is on the way; special friends, Sherry and Debbie; as well as other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father; a special grandson, Ricky Popp, Jr.; four sisters; and one brother.

Visitation will be held from 4 PM until 7 PM with a Rosary at 6:30 PM on Monday, July 30, 2018, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Winona.  There will not be any visitation held on Tuesday, please meet at the church for Mass.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery where the American Legion Leon J. Wetzel Post 9 of Winona will provide military honors.
