Gerald Becker

Gerald F. Becker, age 81, of Eyota, MN, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2022, at his home.

He was born on June 13, 1941, in Winona, to Oliver and Florence (Stephens) Becker.  Gerald grew up and attended school in the Winona and Lewiston areas.  He honorably served his country with the United States Air Force and was a member of the Eyota American Legion.

Gerald was united in marriage with Mardelle Midler on November 2, 1963, and they later divorced.

He was employed for many years as a concrete finisher with Roger Peterson Construction in Dover, MN, and after retiring, he worked as a farmhand at the Gar Lin Dairy Farm in Eyota.  Gerald will be remembered for his strong work ethic, firm handshakes, and enjoyment of fishing and hunting.

Gerald is survived by his daughters: Michelle (Fanie) Kruger, Ohio; Kim (Tim) Mollert, St. Charles, MN; Julie Nelson, Dover, MN; and Holly Becker, Lewiston, MN; grandchildren: Tyler, Benjamin, Heather, Brady, Christopher, Ryan, Lance, Colton, Stephan, Kadyn, and Kaige; great-grandchildren: Madelyn, Ellie, Braxton, Brynlee, Brystol, Theo, and Brielle; sisters: Rose Gilbertson and Judy Timm; a sister-in-law: Carol Becker; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Breanne; brother: Robert Becker; sister and brother-in-law: Betty and Richard Groski; brothers and sisters-in-law: William and Gladys Becker, and Richard “Butch” and Norma Becker; and a brother-in-law: John Gilbertson.

A celebration of Gerald’s life will be held from 2 PM until 4 PM on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at the Eyota American Legion Club, 11 Madison Avenue NW, in Eyota, MN.

Gerald will be laid to rest at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston, MN.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorials be directed to Winona Health Hospice.
