George John Jaskola, age 69, of Winona, died peacefully at his home on Monday, September 16, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born to Stanley and Anna (Guemmer) Jaskola on October 28, 1949, in New Ulm, Minnesota, and he attended school in Winona. George married Kim Howard on June 27, 1981, and they lived on the Mississippi River in their boathouse until they started their family.
George was employed at Gorman Foundry for 31 years until they closed. He then worked temporarily at RTP, and finished at Peerless Chain Company until this retirement.
He loved fishing, boating, camping, and traveling with his family.
George is survived by his wife, Kim; children: Jessica (Eric), Jonathan (Camie), Jennifer, Joshua (Andrea), and Johanna; his lovely grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Carter, Isaac, Nero, Torrin, Waylon, Kolson, Jasen, Ayvin, and Dominik; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, other family members, and his beloved dogs, Smokey and Lexi.
A celebration of his life will be held from 4 PM until 6 PM on Saturday, September 21, 2019, at the Winona VFW Club, 208 East Third Street.
