George R. Janikowski, Sr. 72, passed away August 17, 2018, peacefully in his home.
George was born on July 17, 1946 in Winona, MN to Richard and Dorothy Janikowski.
After graduating from Winona Senior High (1964) and Winona Area VoTech, George joined the United States Air Force, in June 1966. He was honorably discharged in October 1970.
He was stationed in Texas, Mississippi, Maryland, Washington D.C (Pentagon), Pakistan, Vietnam, California, and enjoyed traveling while in the Air Force.
George always enjoyed listening to music from the 60's. His favorite songs: The Motown Song (Soul in the City), Home Grown Tomatoes, Cherry Bomb, and Still Cruisin'. He enjoyed the outdoors, the river, boating, and winter in Minnesota (HA! HA!).
BEYOND THE DOOR THERE'S PEACE I'M SURE AND I KNOW THERE WILL BE NO MORE TEARS IN HEAVEN.
He is survived by daughter, Annette (Bob) Goodman of Rochester; son, George (Deb) Janikowski, Jr. of Wabasha, MN; and son, Timothy (Tiffany) Janikowski of Plainview, MN; seven grandchildren, and a very wonderful friend Gladys Hawkinson of Rochester, MN and her daughter Rebecca (Scott) Bacon of Rochester, MN and their two children.
George was preceded in death by his parents.

According to his wishes, private family services were held. George was laid to rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Winona with military honors.
