Eva Blank

Eva Marie Blank, age 95, of Buffalo City, WI, passed away on December 31, 2017, at Lake Winona Manor.

Eva was born to John and Mathilda (Zirzow) Ganschow on March 24, 1922, in the Town of Belvedere, Buffalo County, Wisconsin.  She married Willard Blank on June 12, 1942, at her home.  They had three children: Betty, Lee and Donald.  She lived all her life in the Buffalo City, WI, area.

Eva was employed for many years at Lake Center in Winona.  She hired on there as one of the original nine women on Johnson Street and retired from there in 1987 working in the Lab with a degree in Chemistry.  After retirement, she did a lot of gardening and volunteered for many years at the Schoolhouse Shoppe.  Eva and her husband traveled great distances and enjoyed dancing with their friends to their favorite old time bands.

Eva is survived by her daughter, Betty Neitzel; son, Donald Blank; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Williard, in November 2009; son, Lee, in August 2014; grandson, Patrick Neitzel in November 2017; brothers, Emil, Arthur, Melvin and Raymond along with their wives; several nieces and nephews; and many cousins.

Visitation will be held from noon until the time of the funeral service at 1 PM, on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at Christ Ev. Lutheran Church in Cochrane, WI.  The Reverend Mark Wilde will officiate.  A luncheon will follow the service.

Eva will be laid to rest at a later date.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers to please make a donation in Eva’s name to Christ Ev. Lutheran Church, the Christ Lutheran Ladies Aide, or to your favorite charity.
