EMMA R. HAMIT

Emma R. Hamit, age 89, of Winona, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2015, at Lake Winona Manor.

She was born on April 4, 1926, in White River, SD, to Fred and Alice (Rhoades) Kline.  She was united in marriage with Raymond Hamit, and he preceded her in death.

In her younger years, Emma worked as a waitress, and during her time in Kilgore, NE, she ran a home business café, was a substitute mail carrier, and helped her husband with janitorial services at the local school.

Emma will be remembered for her love of crocheting, doing crafts, making quilts, and many family members have benefited from her gift of dish towels.  As an avid reader, Emma enjoyed western novels, especially those of Zane Grey.  Emma was an excellent homemaker who loved cooking and baking for her family.

Emma is lovingly survived by her son, Bruce Hamit; daughter, Diane (Tom) Zolondek; 7 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, David; great-grandchildren, Christina and Danny; as well as 6 brothers and 4 sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Friday, November 6, 2015, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home.

Emma will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, November 6, 2015, from 12 Noon until the time of the service.

Pallbearers will be: Josh Hamit, Jeffrey Peterson, Justin Peterson, Tyler Peterson, John Zolondek, and Carter Peterson Zolondek.
