ELIZABETH G. "BETTY" STIEVER
Elizabeth G. “Betty” Stiever, age 89, of Wilson, MN, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 28, 2017, at St. Anne Extended Healthcare, surrounded by her family.
She was born on October 7, 1927, in Winona, to Arthur and Gertrude (Nelson) Frye. She was united in marriage with Edward Stiever on November 11, 1950, and he preceded her in death on June 29, 2016.
Betty worked alongside her husband, Ed, on the farm, and she was an excellent homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking, and canning. She will be remembered as a loving mom and grandma who always looked forward to having the family together on the holidays, and for her enjoyment of playing cards and board games.
Betty is lovingly survived by her children: Wayne Stiever, Witoka, MN; James Stiever, Twin Bluffs, MN; Alice Nelson, Stockton, MN; Kurt Stiever, Rochester, MN; Sally Stiever, Winona, MN; Barbie (Tom) Meier, Winona; Kenny Stiever, Money Creek, MN; grandchildren: Shanie (Jeff) Grant, Candes Stiever, Stacy (Gabe) Milene, Shannon (Sean) Hundt, Brad Stiever, C.J. (JoAnn) Stiever, Jason Stiever, James Meier, and Jordan Meier; great-grandchildren: Tommy Grant, Justin Doerr, Courtney Doerr, Amanda Doerr, Clayton Boyum, Cassandra Boyum, Hanna Hundt, Allison Hundt, Elizabeth Stiever, Sadie Stiever, Brady Stiever, and Conner Milene; sister: Alice (Alan) Stevens; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; son, Timothy; infant sons, Charles and Mark; great-granddaughter, Katie Hornberg; and sisters: Dorothy, Eleanor, Peggy, Elaine, and Jeanie.
Visitation will be held from 11 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 2 PM on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wilson. The Reverend Monsignor Thomas J. Hargesheimer will officiate. Betty will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: James Meier, Jordan Meier, Brad Stiever, Justin Doerr, Jason Stiever, C.J. Stiever, and Tommy Grant.
Betty’s family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff on 5th floor of St. Anne’s for the excellent and loving care that she received.
