Elizabeth "Betty" L. Redig

Elizabeth “Betty” L. Redig, age 85, of Winona, MN, passed away on August 1, 2026, at her home.

Betty was born on April 19, 1941, in Ottosen, Iowa, to Henry and Mary (Schaller) Welter, and was a graduate of Winona Senior High School in 1959. Betty was united in marriage with Keith Redig on April 15, 1961, and they had a wonderful life together for over 64 years, until his passing in 2025.

Betty enjoyed a career in banking that spanned more than 50 years. She truly loved her work and often said it never felt like work to her.

Betty was an avid softball player, bowler, archer, and golfer, earning numerous awards and accolades throughout the years. She and Keith shared a love of travel, often exploring together by motorcycle and making frequent trips to visit family. They also enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, and boating. Betty especially treasured her backyard oasis, where she tended her flowers and found joy in watching the birds, deer, and other wildlife that visited her yard.

Betty is survived by her son, Kevin (Terri), and daughter, Vicky (Mike) Petersen; grandchildren: David Redig, Jessi (Dave) Muras, Jamie (McKay) Griffin, Keagen Petersen and Elle Petersen; great-grandchildren: Connor, Landon, Gavin, and Kinsley Muras and Peyton and Cassian Griffin; brothers: Frank (Carol) Welter and Joe (Naomi) Welter and in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers: Larry Welter and Ray Welter, sisters-in-law: Phyllis McNally and Florence Redig; and brothers-in-law: Roger Redig, Leo Liebsch and Bob McNally.

Visitation will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, 376 E. Sarnia St., Winona, on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, from 2 PM until the funeral service at 3 PM. Deacon Justin Green will officiate.

Betty will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in Dakota, MN.
