Elaine L. Putzier

Elaine L. Putzier, age 92, of Winona, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at Benedictine – St. Anne in Winona.

She was born on November 8, 1931, in Winona, to Edward and Louise (Radsek) Schueler. Elaine married Leo F. Putzier on July 14, 1949, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Winona, and he preceded her in death on October 15, 2011.

Elaine was employed with Knitcraft in Winona from 1968 until her retirement in 1996, and she was a member of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart.

She will be remembered for her enjoyment of reading, doing embroidery, and working word and jigsaw puzzles. She and Leo enjoyed camping for many years, and caring for their Siamese cat, Tammy.

Elaine is survived by her children: Thomas (Lanita) Putzier and Kenneth (Carrie) Putzier; grandchildren: Tim (Stephanie) Putzier, Jill (Matt) Ferk, Jason Putzier, and Jayme Putzier; great-grandchildren: Gavin and Audrey; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Dwain; and a sister, Marian Skappel.

Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the funeral service at 11 AM on Friday, June 28, 2024, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, 376 E. Sarnia St., Winona. The Very Reverend Mark C. McNea will officiate. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Winona.

In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of choice can be made.
