Douglas P. Prigge

Douglas P. Prigge, age 60, of rural Winona, peacefully passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at his home.

Born on February 17, 1966, in Winona to Armin and Irma (Schoenike) Prigge, Doug was a lifelong member of the community. He attended Immanuel Lutheran School – Silo and graduated from Lewiston-Altura High School in 1984.

After high school, Doug dedicated himself to working on the family farm, proudly being the fourth generation to operate the farm. His commitment to farming and his deep affection for his cows defined much of his life. Doug was also a faithful member of St. Martin’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Winona, where he served as an usher and assisted with the recording of weekly church services for TV.

Doug enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, including Sunday drives, road trips, bike riding, listening to a variety of music, and cheering for the Minnesota Twins.

He will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Irma, of Lewiston, as well as numerous relatives, neighbors, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Armin.

Visitation will take place at Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, 376 E. Sarnia St., Winona, on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM, officiated by Reverend Richard A. Moore. Doug will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Todd Mueller, Joel Mueller, Allen Mueller, Jonah Mueller, Brandon Mueller, and Samuel Mueller.
