DOROTHY M. KRATCH

Dorothy M. Kratch, age 94, of Winona, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016, at St. Anne Extended Healthcare.

She was born on April 16, 1922, in Bluff Siding, WI, to August and Isabelle (Losinski) Drazkowski.  Dorothy was united in marriage with Mark A. Kratch on September 28, 1940, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Winona, and he preceded her in death on January 24, 1995.

Dorothy graduated from the Milwaukee School of Beauty Culture in Eau Claire, WI, and began her career as a hairdresser and beautician with the Deluxe Beauty Shop.  Dorothy owned and operated Dorothy’s Beauty Shop in Winona from 1954 until 1992, and was also a hairdresser for the Watkowski Funeral Home for many years.

She was a member of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka.

Dorothy will be remembered for her love of playing bridge and traveling around the world with her friends.  Her family was very important to her, and she especially enjoyed the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.  She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Dorothy is lovingly survived by her children: Carol Annis; Diane (Steven) Arends; Nancy Piper; Gary (Sonya) Kratch; and Lee (Andrea) Kratch; grandchildren: Paul Annis; Gary Annis; Patsy Brekke; Amy Maas; Andy Arends; Angel Danielson; Elaise Piper; Annessa Light; Michael Kratch; and David Kratch; step-grandson: Eric Zwernemann; 14 great-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and 9 brothers and sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 AM on Saturday, November 5, 2016, at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka.  The Reverend Monsignor Thomas J. Hargesheimer and the Reverend Robert P. Stamschror will concelebrate.

Dorothy will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home on Friday, November 4, 2016, from 5 PM until 7 PM, and also at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka on Saturday, November 5, 2016, from 9 AM until the time of the Mass.

It is respectfully requested that memorials be directed to the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka.
