Dianne Kohner

Dianne J. (Thiele) Kohner, age 81, passed away at her home in Winona, MN, surrounded by her loving family and wonderful caregivers, on Wednesday, June 3, 2020.

She was born on August 17, 1938, in Winona, Minnesota, to Martha Thiele. Dianne was a 1956 graduate of Winona Senior High School.  She married Richard Kohner on April 18, 1959, and they were together for 61 years until her passing.  Following her years as a stay at home mother, she worked as an administrative assistant at the Winona Veterinary Clinic.  Dianne truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures: cooking, sewing, reading, working on her computer, taking rides with Rich, going out to lunch with cousins, and enjoying time with her grandsons.

Dianne was preceded in death by her mother, Martha, and son, Timothy.  She is survived by her husband, Rich; son: Steve (Camille); daughter: Claire (Karen); 6 grandsons: Caleb (Shanise), Lucas, Jacob, Phillip, Davian and Jerome. Dianne was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, godmother and niece.  She will be missed by many and remembered forever.

Dianne wishes that all memorials be donated to the Fischer House Program.  Fischer House is a “home away from home” for patients families and significant others who have veterans and active duty soldiers receiving care at the VA.

A graveside service will be held at 1 PM on Sunday, June 7, 2020, at St. Mary's Cemetery in Winona - please meet at the Armory entrance by 12:50 PM, and please practice social distancing.
