Dian Kistenmacher

Dian Finnery Kistenmacher, age 76, of Lehigh Acres, FL, passed away on November 21, 2018, in Mundelein, IL.

Dian was born on a snowy, wintery morning on March 31, 1942, in Chicago, IL, (#2 twin to Dorothy Jo), to Mildred (Flick) Finnery and Wilson James Finnery.

She was a long-time resident of Lehigh Acres, FL (26 years).  Her neighbors were her special family who always looked out for her and once even saved her life!  They all called her, “Mom.”  These angels were: Elizabeth, her husband Nesto, and their children Sergio, Durki, Sharo, Samantha, and Stacy; Gary, John, Jason, Eneida, Ramos, Nancy, Cathy and Charles.

Dian was a fantastic cook, especially her homemade pizza, and Southern dishes which included shrimp creole, red beans and rice, jumbalaya, and even alligator picante.

She was also a wonderful crafter, her favorite being crocheting – many of her friends stay warm under her afghans and hats (right, James Hammond?), and one of her specialties was crocheted animals.

Dian loved animals, especially dogs and cats.  When they passed, she had her own pet cemetery in her backyard.

She followed her parents, unk, and her sisters Beatrice, Carol, and Pat on her way to heaven.

Dian is survived by her twin sister, Dorothy Jo; sisters: Linda (Don), Margot, and Jean (Steve); special daughters: Kathy (Joe) and Amie (Travis); brothers: Wilson and Steve (Jean); and her many nieces and nephews: Susan (David), Dawn (Greg), Sharon, Jeffrey, Edward (Cari), Theresa (Bill), Rocky (Tracy), Carmen, and Trixie; also Sarah, Kalyssa, Gabriel, Cassandra, Spencer, Stephanie, and our newest member, Liam.

RIP Diana.

It was Dian’s wish that she be cremated with no formal funeral services being held, and that her ashes be returned to New Orleans.
