Deborah K. "Debbie" Lilla

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Deborah Kay “Debbie” Lilla. She passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at her home of natural causes. She was 73.

Debbie was born on July 5, 1952, in Winona, to Chester and Elayne (Woychek) Lilla. She attended St. Stanislaus Grade School, graduated from Cotter High School, and received her bachelor’s degree from Winona State University.

Prior to her retirement, Debbie was employed for many years with the Winona Public Library. She was a member of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka and enjoyed volunteering at the Polish Museum.

She will be remembered for her enjoyment of doing cross-stitch, embroidery, and crosswords. She will be deeply missed and lived a great life with her family and friends.

Debbie is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Linda Lilla, as well as other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and several aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 9:30 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM. The Very Reverend Patrick Arens will officiate. Debbie will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that memorials be directed to the Winona Public Library, or to the Diabetes Association.
