David "Harry" E. Harris

David E. “Harry” Harris, age 66, of Pine Creek, WI, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, following a 5-year battle with cancer.

He was born on September 10, 1958, in Austin, MN, to Robert and Dr. Donna (Meakin) Harris, and was a graduate of Winona Senior High School. Following high school, he honorably served his country with the United States Army from 1977 – 1983.

Harry was employed for many years in the construction industry working with local companies such as but not limited to Biesanz Stone and Keller Construction. He was “the Harry” of Harry’s Place in Pine Creek, WI of which he was the proud owner for over 37 years and just celebrated 13 years open to the public for all to enjoy!

He was a member of the Tavern League of Wisconsin, was a co-founder of Pine Creek Day and served on the committee, and he was the founder of the Hot Rods and Harleys annual events that brought people from near and far.

Harry will be remembered as a socialite who loved the Pine Creek community and he truly gave the little village a heartbeat. He loved riding his Harley, going camping & side by side riding with friends. He was always willing to lend a hand to any neighbor or friend who needed help with a project. His greatest joy in life was living it up. He cherished the time spent with his siblings, and his children and grandchildren were everything to him.

Harry is lovingly survived by his children: Alex Martin, Bary Martin, Melissa (Ryan) Adams, and Veronique (Undray) Mays; grandchildren: Aryana Korpal, Evelyn Puchalla, Brielle Puchalla, Terrell Conner, and Travion Conner; siblings: Jean (Mark) Gunderson, Mark Harris, Joan Harris, Rich (Patty) Harris, Robert (Pat) Harris, Paul (Linda) Harris, and Bryan (LynMaree) Harris; step-mother, Ruth Harris; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and the mother of his children, Ivette Rodriguez-Santiago.

A celebration of Harry’s life will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, 376 E. Sarnia St., Winona, on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 2 PM until 6 PM, where a time of remembrance will be held at 3 PM, and military honors at 6 PM.

Harry’s family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Winona Health Home & Hospice, Home Instead, WI Tavern League, our many family members and friends, and especially our Pine Creek and Harry’s Place Communities, for all the love, care, and support we have received.

The family respectfully asks that memorials be directed to the Ronald McDonald House Charities in Rochester, MN if looking to make donations. The hardest part of treatment for Harry was seeing children fighting cancer or patients on the journey alone.
