Daniel J. McGill

Daniel J. McGill, age 71, of Winona, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024, at his home.

He was born on November 19, 1952, in Winona, to John and Doris (Sinell) McGill. Dan was a graduate of Winona Senior High School, and received his Associate Degree in Applied Science at Vermilion Community College and attended Winona State University.

Dan was united in marriage with Mary Christine Heiting on March 7, 1986, in Winona, and she preceded him in death on January 2, 1992.

He was employed with Riverside Electronics, Mid-Town Foods, and most recently with Steak Shop Catering in Winona prior to his retirement.

Dan will be remembered for his enjoyment of fishing, playing pool, golfing, gardening, and visiting with friends.

Dan is survived by his son, Timothy J. McGill; siblings: Joan Ella (Tom Nelson) McGill, Sara McGill, and Charlie McGill; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including members of the Heiting family. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; brother, Timothy G. McGill; and sister, Jane Byington

A private ceremony will be held at Saint Mary’s Cemetery.

A celebration of his life will be held at the Winona Eagle’s Club, 210 E. 4^th St., Winona, on Saturday, July 20, 2024, from 4 PM to 8 PM.

A memorial is being arranged.
