Cheryl K. Wockenfuss, 77, of Tallahassee, Florida passed away at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital due to complications from a stroke on September 19, 2020.
She was born March 30, 1944, in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Roy Shipman and Dorothy (Brinegar) Shipman. Cheryl graduated from Auburn High School in Rockford, class of 1962. She then attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL, graduating with a degree in History in 1966. After graduation she returned to Rockford where she met and married David Wockenfuss in 1970 and moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota. Prior starting a family in 1974 she worked for a Life Insurance company in Minneapolis. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in January 2020. During their marriage they lived in suburban Minneapolis, Lake City, Mn, Tualatin, OR, and Tallahassee, FL.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Scott Andrew Wockenfuss.
Surviving in addition to her husband, David Wockenfuss are her son, Michael Wockenfuss of Tallahassee, daughter, Stacey Reeb and her husband David Reeb of Beaverton, OR, granddaughters Celeste Cota-Wockenfuss of Tualatin, OR and Vanessa Wockenfuss of Beaverton, OR, a sister, Doe Price of Canton, GA, and a brother, Larry Shipman and his wife Mary, of Roscoe, IL.
Visitation will be held from 10 AM until a service of remembrance at 11 AM on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home 376 East Sarnia Street, Winona, MN, followed by interment at the Oakland Cemetery in Minnesota City. Pastor Alma Buco will officiate.
