Carolyn Sander

Carolyn A. Sander, age 59, of Winona, passed away on Friday, June 4, 2021, at the Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital in La Crosse.

She was born on August 25, 1961, in Winona, to Bernard and Doris (Wohlhaefer) Cerney, Jr., and was a graduate of Winona Senior High School.

Carolyn was united in marriage with Ricky Sander on May 30, 1981, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Winona.  She was employed with several local businesses including North Castle Specialties and WinCraft.

Carolyn was the ultimate Minnesota Vikings fan.  Family was very important to her, and she especially cherished the time that she spent with her children and grandchildren.  She was always there when you needed her and wanted to help those she loved in any way she could.  She was the best support system you could ask for.  She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Carolyn is lovingly survived by her husband, Ricky; her children: Jessica, Erica, Emily, Alex, Kristen, Katie, and Hayley; grandchildren: Lucas and Ryliee; brother: Dan; sister: Debbie; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Bob.

A visitation will be held from 10:30 AM until 11:30 AM on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, 376 East Sarnia Street, Winona.  Following the visitation, a celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held from 1 PM until 4 PM at the East Side Bar in Winona - please RSVP if you would like to attend. “Remembering Carolyn Sander.” Those attending are encouraged to wear their Vikings apparel.
