Carol A. Fitzgerald

Carol Ann Fitzgerald, 79, of Winona, MN, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Sugar Loaf Senior living with her family by her side.

She was born April 30, 1946, in Winona to Lillian and Harry Ratajczyk. On July 6, 1963, she married her high school sweetheart, David Fitzgerald, and together they raised three wonderful sons: John, Tim, and Tony. Carol was a graduate of Winona Area Technical Institute, where she earned her LPN certificate. Throughout her career, she made an impact at Technigraph, Watkins Nursing Home, St. Michael's, and the Winona Post.

She cherished time with her family, found joy in cooking, loved camping trips, and sitting outdoors. She was also a devoted fan of the Minnesota Vikings.

She is survived by her three loving sons John (Chris) Fitzgerald of Winona, Tim (Tracey) Fitzgerald of Indianapolis, Tony (Kathy) Fitzgerald of Winona, her five grandchildren, Amanda (Josh) Jonsgaard, Matt (Paaj) Fitzgerald, Michael (Michelle) Salerno, Zachary (Mariah) Fitzgerald, Jillian Fitzgerald and her five great grandchildren and many friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Fitzgerald, parents Lillian and Harry Ratajczyk, and an aunt, Sarah Cope.

Visitation will be held from 11 AM until the funeral service at 1 PM on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, 376 E. Sarnia St., Winona.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Pat Morrison, Troy Vaughn, Kevin Brand, Michael Salerno, Matt Fitzgerald, and Zachary Fitzgerald.
