Bonnie J. Gleesing, age 86, of Winona, formerly of Milwaukee, WI, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Sugar Loaf Senior Living.
She was born on June 26, 1940, in Dover, MN, to Frank and Alice (Selke) Alfaro. Bonnie’s family moved to Texas, New Mexico, and then settled in Winona. She was a graduate of Winona Senior High School, attended Winona State, and completed her degree as a legal secretary at MATC in Milwaukee.
Bonnie married Gerald Chadbourn, and they divorced. She later married Kenneth Gleesing in Milwaukee and was a loving wife to him for many years.
She was employed as a legal and executive secretary and served as the president of the Legal Secretary Society of Wisconsin, representing Hales Corners.
Bonnie had a great love for quilting, classical music, playing piano, and she enjoyed singing with several church and community choirs. She was a former member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Hales Corners, WI, and was presently a member of First Congregational Church in Winona.
Bonnie is lovingly survived by her husband, Ken; two children; 3 step-children; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild with another on the way; 2 sisters; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the funeral service at 10 AM on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, 376 E. Sarnia St., Winona. Pastor Danielle Bartz will officiate. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Milwaukee at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First Congregational Church in Winona.
