Bonnie R. (Thrune) Banicki, age 67, of Winona, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2017, at her home.

She was born on November 3, 1949, in Winona, to Norbert and Myrtle (Arneson) Thrune, Sr., and was a graduate of Cotter High School.

Bonnie was employed for many years with Lake Center until her retirement due to health reasons.

She will be remembered for her love of going to garage sales, antiquing, fishing, playing BINGO and cribbage, as well as her great love for her pets.  Bonnie’s family was very important to her.  She loved her grandkids, watching her son play softball, and she looked forward to the yearly Thrune family reunions.

Bonnie is lovingly survived by her life partner, Leonard Merchlewitz; son, Jeff  Banicki; grandchildren: Jesse (Brenda Valenzuela) Banicki, Dylan Banicki, and Nicole Banicki; great-grandson, Josiah John Banicki; brothers and sisters: Nancy (Ken) Martin, Louisville, KY, Janice Krejce, Webster, WI, Donna Butenshoen, Red Wing, MN, Eugene (Bonnie) Thrune, Winona, MN, Norbert Jr. (Loretta) Thrune, Winona, MN, Mary Fromkin, Portland, ME, Teresa (Tom) Geistfeld, Prescott, WI, David (Vicki) Thrune, Winona, MN, Terrance Thrune, Winona, MN, Patricia (Randy) Gunderson, Holmen, WI, Gregory (Karen) Thrune, Minnesota City, MN, and Ronald Thrune, Rochester, MN, as well as 34 Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers: Dwynne Arneson, Thomas Thrune, and Joseph Thrune.

A gathering will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home on Saturday, August 26, 2017, from 1 PM until 4 PM, where Deacon Justin Green will lead prayers at 3 PM, followed by a time to share memories.
