BETTY J. BILDER

Betty J. Bilder, age 93, of Winona, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017, at St. Anne Extended Healthcare, following a short illness.

She was born on November 22, 1923, in Eau Claire, WI, to Frank and Myrtle (Ecke) Ciszak, and was a graduate of Winona Senior High School.  Betty was united in marriage with Paul A. Bilder on July 13, 1946, in Winona, and he preceded her in death on March 21, 1998.

Betty was employed for over 20 years as a financial worker with Winona County Human Services, until her retirement.

She was a member of St. John Nepomucene Church, and as an avid quilter, she also enjoyed membership in the Winona Area Quilters.  She will be remembered as an excellent baker, her love of flower gardening, and the fun-loving relationship she shared with her sisters.

Betty is survived by her children: Jeanne (Steve) Tanamachi, and Bob (Jeanne) Bilder; granddaughters: Robin (Dan Dawson, II) Tanamachi, and Amanda (Jonathan Meyer) Tanamachi; great-grandsons: Dan Dawson, III, and Paul Dawson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and all of her siblings: Delos “Sonny” Ciszak, Jane Michalowski, Joanne Thein, Bonnie Bambenek, Nancy Sheridan, and Shirley Budnick.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at St. John Nepomucene Church, 560 East Broadway, Winona.  The Reverend Monsignor Thomas J. Hargesheimer will officiate.  Betty will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to St. John Nepomucene Church, or to a charity of choice.
