Barbara Hunt Hoffnung (formerly Trott) died peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on the morning of Tuesday, November 24th. She will be greatly missed. She was the youngest of 3 children born to Charles and Bertha Hunt on April 20, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois. Barbara was mother and grandmother to 7 children and 10 grandchildren.
Gran was famous for her baking and was known to send a batch of cookies home with every visitor. She enjoyed all types of music: Edith Piaf, Vivialdi’s Four Seasons, La Traviata, The Rolling Stones. She read avidly, loved movies, and was enchanted by the lives of musicians, actors, and artists. Her backyard was filled with flowers and she was most content working in her vegetable garden. She sewed for her children and then her grandbabies. She was a whiz at whipping up fantastical Halloween costumes and she made lovely quilts. Her last big sewing project was an appliqued flower garden quilt for her granddaughter Victoria.
A celebration of life will be planned for a later date. To send condolences or to share memories with the family, please go to www.watkowski-mulyck.com. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Winona Health Home and Hospice, 175 East Wabasha Street, Winona, MN 55987.
