Arlene L. Sobeck

Arlene Leone Sobeck, age 93, of Wilson, MN, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at the Valley View Care Center in Houston, MN.

She was born on July 14, 1930, in Winona, to Carl and Lilly (Luckason) Peterson, and was united in marriage with Eugene Sobeck in 1951.

Arlene was employed at the First National Bank in Winona. She enjoyed bowling, making it to the state and national bowling tournaments, and was also inducted into the Winona Bowling Association Hall of Fame.

Arlene was a world traveler as a result of her being a consultant for “Christmas Around the World” from 1987 – 2001.

In her later years, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and going to their school and sporting events. Arlene enjoyed this most of all and was close to all of her grandchildren.

Arlene is lovingly survived by her children: Gary (Dody) Sobeck and Jim (Deb) Sobeck; including Robert Kammerer, whom she had cared for; grandchildren: Chrisopher (Janneke) Sobeck, Jenna Sobeck, Chelsea (Phil) Goldblatt, Bradley (Linnea) Cierzan, Halley (Alex Kjos) Sobeck, Lydia Sobeck, and Olivia (Jeremiah) Hall; great-grandsons: Colten and Julian Sobeck; Walter and Arthur Sobeck Kjos; Theodore and Joel Goldblatt; Ashton Cierzan; and Jayden and Ian Hall; siblings: Yvonne O’Connor and Carrol Peterson; sister-in-law: Marilyn Boynton; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, in 1998; her daughter, Marcia, in 2022; her brother, Larry, in 1988; and her parents.

Visitation will be held from 11 AM until the funeral service at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, 376 E. Sarnia St., Winona. Pastor Kathy Redig will officiate. Burial will be at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Wilson.

Pallbearers will be Arlene’s grandchildren: Christopher Sobeck, Brad Cierzan, Jenna Sobeck, Chelsea Goldblatt, Olivia Hall, Halley Sobeck, and Lydia Sobeck.
