Arlene J. Fenske

Arlene J. Fenske, age 91, of Winona, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Sauer Health Care in Winona.

She was born on September 1, 1934, in Alma, WI, to Norman and Emma (Buege) Nelsestuen, and was a graduate of Winona High School. Arlene was united in marriage with Alfred “Pudge” Fenske on March 9, 1974, at St. Martin’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Winona, and he preceded her in death on January 15, 1993.

Arlene was employed for many years with Ted Maier Drug Store in Winona and later worked part-time in the cafeteria of the Winona Middle School until her retirement.

She was a member of Westfield Golf Club and of St. Martin’s Ev. Lutheran Church.

Arlene will be remembered for her enjoyment of golfing, cheering for the Vikings, and as an avid bowler, she had the honor of being the Winona City Singles Champion and bowling several 300 games. She had a great love of travel with some of her most memorable trips being to the Caribbean, Mexico, and her honeymoon in Hawaii.

Arlene is lovingly survived by her brother, Richard (Carol) Nelsestuen; nieces and nephews: Paul (Theresa) Nelsestuen, Jill (Travis) Buxengard, Katie (Leif) Pettersen, Brandon (Theresa) Nelsestuen, Richard Kenyon, James (Jenny) Kenyon, and Bob Brown; great-nieces and great-nephews: Erica, Nicole, Paige, Morgan, Noah, Grant, Aiden, Jack, Tyler, Kyle, Makenzie, and Ryland.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers: LaVern Nelsestuen and Ardell Nelsestuen; sisters-in-law: Trudy Nelsestuen and Karen Nelsestuen; and a niece, Lisa A. Brown.

Visitation will be held from noon until the funeral service at 1 PM on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, 376 E. Sarnia St., Winona. The Reverend Kyle Lewis will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Paul Nelsestuen, Brandon Nelsestuen, Noah Buxengard, and Grant Buxengard.
