Ardelle M. Steinfeldt

Ardelle Mae (Beach) Steinfeldt, age 94, of Winona, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at her home with her loved ones by her side.

She was born on March 22, 1931, in La Crosse, WI, to Rufus and Myrtle (Kappauf) Beach, and was a 1949 graduate of La Crosse High School. She married Norman Steinfeldt on June 16, 1951, in Pickwick, MN, and they were married for 47 years until his death in August of 1998.

Ardelle was a devoted housewife and mother who was a pro at making homemade bread and baked goods. She also did a lot of canning with the produce from her large gardens.

She loved to kick up her heels and go to Polka Fests with Norman. They also enjoyed watching horse pulls and tractor pulls. If you were out and about going to garage sales, you may have seen Ardelle searching for a bargain.

Ardelle also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, word searches, and jigsaw puzzles. She loved watching many of the game shows on TV and was a big fan of wrestling.

Her greatest joy of all was spending time with her family, and she always loved when family and friends would stop in to visit…her door was always open.

We have lost someone very special, and she will be deeply missed.

Ardelle is lovingly survived by her children: Connie Mabray, Candy (Arne) Maurud, Wally Steinfeldt, Christi (Curt Passow) Steinfeldt, Whiley (Joan) Steinfeldt, Cherry (William) Roder, Warren (Kristy) Steinfeldt, Wynn Steinfeldt, and daughter-in-law, Cindy Steinfeldt. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Stanley (Eileen) Beach; numerous nieces and nephews; and her long-time friend, Lilah Bartz.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; four children: Cynthia (Cindi), Wayne, Wendell, and Wesley; sister: Berdonna Severson; and brother-in-law: Lloyd Severson.

Visitation will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, from 4 PM until 7 PM, and again at the funeral home on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 10 AM until the funeral service at 11 AM. Burial will be in the Pickwick Cemetery. A luncheon and reception will be held at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be: Matt Steinfeldt, Brian Steinfeldt, Aaron Steinfeldt, Brecken Steinfeldt, Alex Steinfeldt, and Collyn Kruse.
