Allen Dale Larson, age 80, of Winona, passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2025, in the Memory Care Unit at Springbrook Village in La Crescent, MN.
Allen was born on February 27, 1945, in Waukon, IA, to Olvin, Sr. and Ella (McClintock) Larson. He graduated from Winona Senior High School in 1964. Allen joined the Marines in 1965, and served in the Vietnam War until 1967.
He married Linda Lou Neumann on May 16, 1970, in Ridgeway, MN.
Allen began his employment at Asco, Tousley Ford, and laying sod for Dale Welch. He finished his working career at TRW, where he was employed for over 40 years. In his spare time, Allen would go out of his way to help others with anything that they needed to get done. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.
After his retirement, he volunteered at Good Steward Resale Shop in La Crosse for 14 years. Allen was also a member of St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Winona and volunteered his time ushering and helping with repairs at the church and school.
Allen is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Dusty; brother, Olvin, Jr. (Chris) Larson; sister, Rosaria (Orley) Mullens; brother-in-law: Dean (Kris) Neumann; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Deryl; sister, Harriet; nephews: Carlos Alitz and Dennis Larson; and a niece, Rietha Holland.
Visitation will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, 376 E. Sarnia St., Winona, on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 4 PM until 6 PM. Visitation will also be held at St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 766 W. Wabasha St., Winona, on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 10:30 AM until the funeral service at 11:30 AM.
Allen will be laid to rest at Bush Cemetery in Ridgeway, where the American Legion Leon J. Wetzel Post 9 of Winona will provide military honors.
Pallbearers will be David Larson, Michael Calhoun, Craig Calhoun, Derek Neumann, Allen Groth, Kevin Groth, Kevin Jumbeck, and Jack Conway. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jason Alitz and Jarred Alitz.
