ALFRED (AL) PIERZINA

Alfred (Al) Pierzina, age 86, of Winona, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017, at his home.

Al was born on November 1, 1930, in Arcadia, WI, to Thomas and Gertrude (Lisowski) Pierzina.  He was united in marriage with Elaine (Roberts) Rinn on January 25, 1969, and she preceded him in death on October 16, 2005.

He farmed with his brother at North Creek, rural Arcadia, and was also employed for many years as a supervisor with Winona Industries.

Al was a member of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Winona, and he had a special devotion to praying the Most Holy Rosary.

He will be remembered for his enjoyment of repairing small engines, cutting wood and playing Euchre.  Al was a good and kind-hearted man who will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Al is survived by his sister: Evelyn Rotering, Arcadia, WI; step-daughter: Debi (Rod) Ties, Winona; a special and devoted nephew: Ted (Delane) Pierzina, Onalaska, WI; as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; and Al was blessed to be surrounded by great and caring neighbors and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife; step-son: Donald Rinn; parents; brothers: Alois and Theodore; and his dog and best friend, Buddy.

Visitation will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, from 4 PM until 7 PM, where the recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be held at 6:30 PM.  Visitation will also be held at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, from 1 PM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 2 PM.  The Reverend Mark C. McNea will officiate.

Al will be laid to rest at the St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Arcadia, WI, at a later date.

Pallbearers will be: Andrew Ties, Sidney Rotering, Bradley Lutz, Tom Pierzina, Ben Pierzina, and Rocky Pierzina.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Bob Tropple, Bob Caldwell, Clay Rinn, and Joe Rotering.
