A celebration of Jim's life will be held from 1 PM until 5 PM on Saturday, October 12, 2019, at the Winona VFW Club, 208 East Third Street, where military honors will be conducted at 2 PM.
James R. Stiles, age 76, of Winona, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at the Whitewater Health Services in St. Charles, MN.
He was born on January 18, 1943, in Denver, CO, to James and Doris (Brezinski) Stiles, and the family moved to Winona when he was 5 years old. Jim was a graduate of Winona Senior High School, and he honorably served his country with the United States Army during the Vietnam Campaign from 1964-1970. Jim was united in marriage with Jeanine Dzwonkowski on October 11, 1969, in Winona.
Jim was employed as a Union Carpenter for several years. Upon his retirement, he orchestrated the building of Rochester Wholesale Fruit Inc., formerly known as the old Northwestern Railroad shops, for Gary and Kathy LaPoint. Jim enjoyed spending time with his family at their cabin and many hours on the river fishing and hunting with his girls. He was a member of the local VFW, American Legion, and Carpenters Union.
Jim is lovingly survived by his wife of 50 years, Jeanine; daughters: Janell (Randy Gazdecki) and Michelle (Dave McCorquodale); grandchildren: Cody Schueler (Brittni Jessessky), Bradly Schueler, Jordan Schueler, Adam Gazdecki, Laura Gazdecki, Dusty McCorquodale, and Mariah McCorquodale; great-grandchildren: Karter Andersen, Alex Schueler, and Jerich Schueler; siblings: Shirley Dietrich, Carolyn (Bill Sheldon), and Janet (Al Stoltz). He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father: Kenel Klein; and brothers-in-law: LeRoy Frisch and Carl Dietrich.
We will love you forever and ever and then some more!
According to Jim’s wishes, there will not be a formal service. A celebration of life will be held with family and friends at a later date.
