Dennis S. "Denny" Orlikowski

January 7, 1951 ~ July 21, 2019 (age 68)


Dennis S. “Denny” Orlikowski, age 68, of Winona, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2019, at the Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital in La Crosse.

He was born on January 7, 1951, in Winona, to Eugene and Cecelia (Loeffen) Orlikowski.

Following graduation from high school, Denny was employed for many years in construction as an ironworker, building skyscrapers in the Twin Cities.

Denny married Charmaine Kragon on April 19, 1980, in Winona, and they later divorced.

An avid outdoorsman, he was a member of Ducks Unlimited, and he looked forward to hunting, fishing, and golfing. Denny also enjoyed softball, pool, and bowling, and was a major fan of all Minnesota sports teams including the Twins, Vikings, Gophers, and the Wild.

On his birthday in 1998, Denny received a double lung transplant, which allowed him to spend another 21 wonderful years with his family, including getting to meet and bond with his two adoring grandchildren who he loved immensely and was very proud of.

Denny is lovingly survived by his children: Gina (Kevin) Rippentrop, and Sean Orlikowski; grandchildren: Carter and Alyssa Rippentrop; sister: Donna (Denny) Burns; brother: Kevin (Amy) Edel; as well as numerous nieces & nephews, cousins, relatives, and his many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers: Gerald “Coot” and Thomas Orlikowski.

Visitation will be held from 4 PM until the funeral service at 6 PM on Friday, July 26, 2019, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home. Deacon Justin Green will officiate.
