Chad R. Evenson, age 42, of Winona, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at his home.
Chad was born on May 18, 1977, in Rochester, MN, to Randy and Alice (Bublitz) Evenson. He attended Vermillion College in Ely, MN, and graduated from Southeast Technical College in Red Wing, MN, where he was named to the Dean’s List. He was employed and worked various jobs doing construction.
He married Tammy Wicka, and they later divorced. Together they had one son, Sebastian, who was his whole world, and the center of Chad’s life.
Chad will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, where he enjoyed fishing, going out on the river, and camping. He especially looked forward to the time that he and Sebastian spent hiking. He had a strong faith and a deep spirituality, and was a wonderful and caring person who would help anyone in need. All those who knew and loved him will cherish the many memories they have of Chad.
Chad is survived by his son: Sebastian; step-son: Trinity; parents: Randy and Alice Evenson; sister: Shannon (Travis Nation) Evenson; nieces: Journey and Allison Walters; nephew: Jace Nation; former wife: Tammy Evenson; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. He will be especially missed by Danny Strelow, Brad Boden, and his special cousins: Mike Wick, Sheri Hatter, and Aaron DeVorak.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.
A gathering to celebrate Chad’s life will be held from 1 PM until a time of remembrance at 3 PM on Sunday, July 7, 2019, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home.
