GENEVIEVE A. EICHMAN

Genevieve A. Eichman, age 92, of rural Trempealeau, WI, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2017, at the Marinuka Manor in Galesville, WI.

She was born on June 6, 1925, in Arcadia Township, WI, to Stephen and Genevieve (Breyer) Molitor.  She was united in marriage with John Eichman on June 11, 1946, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Arcadia.  John preceded her in death on December 10, 2015.

Genevieve’s Catholic faith and her family were the foundations of her life.  She was a long-time active member of St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church in Trempealeau, where she served in many capacities.  She will be remembered for her love of cooking, baking, doing crafts, sewing, canning, and she was an avid deer hunter.  Her favorite role in life was that of being a mother and grandmother, and she will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Genevieve is lovingly survived by her children: Roger (Mary Ann) Eichman, Gerald (Patricia) Eichman, Steven Eichman, and Quentin (Carla) Eichman; son-in-law: Ed Smith; 17 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers: Eymard Molitor and Lambert (Cheryl) Molitor; sisters: Ellen Schlesser and Patricia (Evarist) Sobotta; sister-in-law: Marie Eichman; brother-in-law: Robert Eichman; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Charlotte Smith; and brothers and sisters: Catherine Schaub, Virginia Anderson, Caroline Klonecki, Geraldine Kujak, Stephen Molitor, and Franklin Molitor.

Visitation will be held at St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church in Trempealeau, on Friday, September 22, 2017, from 4 PM until 7 PM, where the recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be held at 7 PM.  Visitation will also be held at the church on Saturday, September 23, 2017, from 10 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM.  The Reverend Antony Joseph will officiate.

Genevieve will be laid to rest in Holy Cross Cemetery, Trempealeau.

Memorials may be directed to St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church in Trempealeau.
